Packaging Possibilities: A Fun, Land Inspired Take on Wise Bar’s Look

Every now and then at PALMS, we like to give ourselves a creative challenge — no pressure, no briefs, just good old-fashioned design play. Our latest sandbox? Wise Bar: a functional snack bar brand we’ve always admired (and happen to work with). Inspired by the iconic and legendary brand aesthetics from House of Land, we decided to run Wise Bar through a fun (the illustrator document was literally titled Wise Bar Playground), exploratory brand sprint a la Land style, just to see what would happen if we shook things up. Spoiler alert: it was a blast!

So What Exactly Did We Do?

We Imagined a Parallel Universe Wise Bar.

If Wise Bar had a twin in an alternate dimension — one that leaned even more into its brainy, botanical, earthy roots — what would it look like? Who would it be friends with? What fonts would it vibe with? We asked all the silly-but-actually-smart questions that help us unlock new creative possibilities and fresh new ideas for an already existing brand.

We Made Moodboards, Then Got Nerdy With Them.

Our studio walls (and Illustrator artboards) filled up fast: Land-core CPG designs, desert and earth tone color palettes, vintage apothecary labels, and gobs of beautiful, vintage fonts The tone: smart but not smug, earthy but modern, confident but a little quirky.

We Let the Owl Fly.

Every brand needs a mascot — and Wise Bar already had one. So we gave their wise, old owl a fresh look: bolder lines and minimalist details to match their quietly confident vibe. Paired with a Land inspired layout and flavor-coded desert earthtone palette, the pack feels clean, snackable, and shelf-ready.

We Didn’t Worry About "Right".

This wasn’t about fixing anything. It was about stretching, sketching, and seeing where the creative flow would go. And honestly? It sparked a ton of ideas we might not have found otherwise.
