Designing Tradition: Custom Lattice Patterns for Little Red Cup Tea
When Little Red Cup Tea asked us to help with their packaging refresh, one of their key requests was to incorporate traditional Chinese lattice patterns into the new designs. We knew right away that this was more than a decorative detail, it was an opportunity to root the brand’s identity in something deeply cultural and meaningful.
We dove deep into the world of traditional Chinese latticework — geometric, architectural motifs that have been used for centuries to bring beauty, symbolism, and harmony into everyday life. Instead of pulling patterns off the shelf, we spent time researching and carefully crafting custom designs that felt authentic yet fresh.
Each tea variety received its own unique lattice, creating a visual system that distinguishes the blends while tying the whole collection together. The result? Packaging that doesn’t just hold tea, one that tells a story of heritage, craftsmanship, and care.
Much like Little Red Cup’s mission to bring high-quality Chinese teas to U.S. customers, these designs are rooted in tradition but adapted for today.
